I heard this analogy recently and it has touched me in a profound way: "A human mind is often like a fire that flickers and is easily influenced by external things. A flickering fire on a candle is a small fire that moves in whichever direction the wind blows. Only when staying still, the fire has the ability to burn stronger and to reach for greater length."
I find the practice of calming the mind so powerful and useful. Even though I can't put it on my portfolio, it is a new skill that is very valuable for me in both my work and personal life. Especially as a marketer who seizes every opportunity to see the world differently, I feel like I have an extra pair of lenses at hand when I need it.
